About Solitaire Classic

What is Solitaire Classic?

Solitaire Classic, also known as Klondike Solitaire or just Solitaire, is one of the most well-known and popular variations of the solitaire card game. It's a single-player game typically played with a standard 52-card deck.

The objective of Solitaire Classic is to move all the cards from the tableau (the main playing area) to the foundation piles following specific rules. The game starts with the cards shuffled and dealt face-down in seven piles, with the top card of each pile face-up. The remaining cards form the stockpile.

Game Rules

  1. Foundation Piles: The four foundation piles are to be built up in ascending order from Ace to King, with cards of the same suit. For example, the first foundation pile starts with an Ace, and subsequent cards of the same suit (2, 3, 4, ..., King) are added in order.

  2. Tableau Piles: Cards in the tableau can be moved in descending order and alternating colors. For example, a red 7 can be placed on a black 8.

  3. Stockpile: Cards from the stockpile can be drawn one at a time, and when drawing from the stock, you can go through the deck once, reshuffling the discard pile to form a new stockpile if necessary.

  4. Building on Aces: Once an Ace is available, it can be moved to an empty foundation pile, and then other cards of the same suit can be built on it.

  5. Empty Tableau Piles: A space left empty in the tableau can be filled with a King (or a group of cards starting with a King).

  6. Winning the Game: The game is won when all cards are successfully moved to the foundation piles following the rules.

Solitaire Classic is a game that requires strategy, planning, and a bit of luck. It has been included in many computer operating systems and is available as a standalone game on various platforms, including mobile devices and online gaming websites.
