About Stop the Bus

Stop the Bus is a charming and simple card game that I only recently found, and it's a great way to spend a few pleasant hours with family and friends. Stop the Bus requires you to win enough rounds and, more crucially, not lose many rounds in order to throw your opponents off the bus.

The tutorial, like many other Crystal Squid card games, is a fantastic method to learn how to play this game.

There are three difficulty levels, and we must admit that we became addicted to this free card game!

Collect and swap cards to obtain as near to 31 with the same suit as possible. Aces, as expected, are worth 11 points, while Jacks, Queens, and Kings are worth 10. Getting any three of a kind (in three separate suits, of course) is always worth 30 points. A hand comprising the 2 of hearts, 2 of diamonds, and 2 of clubs, for example, is worth 30 points.

You start with three bus tokens and only lose them if you finish last in the game. The most important thing to remember in this card game is to avoid being the last player, as the last player loses a token.

You can stop the bus once you're satisfied that you can either win a round (or not finish last). After that, each player has one more chance to strengthen their hand before the scores are totaled and the player with the lowest number of points receives a bus token.

To win, you must eliminate all of the other players!

How to play the game

Three cards are dealt to each player. Then each player takes a turn drawing and discarding a card from the deck or the garbage. The game continues in a clockwise direction. The goal is to achieve as close to 31 points of the same suit as possible. Aces are worth 11 points, while Kings, Queens, and Jacks are worth 10. A three-of-a-kind combination is worth 30 points. One of the three bus tokens is taken away from the player with the lowest score. When a player has used up all of their bus fare tokens, they are ejected off the bus.

Stop the Bus is played using a standard deck of 52 cards, divided into four suits (hearts, diamonds, spades, and clubs), each containing 13 cards. It is a game that can be played with two to nine players. The optimal number of players is three or four, which is why the version on our website has four.
