Grimace's Birthday is a fun platformer in which you skate across the courses. In order for the celebration to take place, you must collect as many milkshakes as you can while tracking down your buddies. It's a good little game, especially given it was made in less than two months.
Grimace celebrates his birthday at a McDonald's restaurant, but none of his McDonaldland companions - Birdie the Early Bird, the Hamburglar, or the McNugget Buddies - attend. He has 30 minutes until midnight to round them all up before the candles are blown out.
Grimace's Birthday was created to honor the release of the Grimace Birthday milkshake, a purple drink available only with McDonald's limited-edition Grimace Birthday Meal. The drink comes with a Big Mac or 10-piece McNuggets and fries.
You must assist Grimace in collecting 40 milkshakes throughout four stages before the timer runs out. The purple mascot skateboards in the first two levels, but goes around barefoot in the last two. When playing on Normal difficulty, the Darkside Grind and 50-50 Grinds are performed automatically while grinding on rails; however, on Hard mode, you must manually grind with the Up or Down controls or you will fall off.
McDonald's just released a brand new Game Boy Color game that plays on actual hardware in 2023.
The new Game Boy Color title, Grimace's Birthday, is produced by Krool Toys. And it's developed using GB Studio, a really cool program that makes Game Boy development much easier
