About Chinchón Online

What is Chinchón?

Chinchón is a traditional Spanish card game that is related to Gin Rummy. It is played with a deck of forty Spanish playing cards. The goal of the game is to line up at least three cards of the same suit or value in a row.

It is popular in Spain, Uruguay, Argentina, Cape Verde, and others. Chinchón is also known as Txintxon, Chinchorro, Conga, and Golpeado. Chinchón is a card game for two, three, or four players that uses 40 cards from a Spanish-suited deck. The game is played in a clockwise direction. The game involves a low to high random chance. A game takes about 20 minutes to complete.

Game Rules

The goal of Chinchón is to make runs (in-suit sequences of cards) and groups (3 or 4 cards of the same value) to match the cards in your hand.

Each player receives 7 cards. The cards are dealt with in a clockwise fashion. The remaining cards are shuffled face down into a pile known as the stock. The top card in the deck is turned face-up to begin the waste pile (also known as the discard pile).

The player to the dealer's right begins the game. The game is played in a counter-clockwise direction.

Each turn involves drawing and discarding a card. The player draws one card, either from the discard pile (face-up) or from the stock (face-down). After drawing a card, the player places a face-up card on the discard pile.

The objective of the game is to build sets of cards in your hand. A set is made up of three or more cards and can be either a run (a series of cards of the same suit) or a group (cards of the same rank).

As a wildcard, the Ace of the Coin suit can be employed.
